This week we're diving into Milan Fashion week, dressing to impress, “clean girl” trends being cancelled on the runway, if everybody is rebranding their personal style and why we’re bored of talking about men!! Let’s get into it →

Girl I’m Bored, Let’s Stop Talking About Men!

By: Anette Castro Yepiz

Frankly, I’m quite tired of girl talk with most girls not being able to pass a Bechtdel test. NOW, this is no shade to all my lovely ladies, we do live under the patriarchy after all that has convinced many women that a husband is and should be the main goal in life.

More so, I’m confused at the alarming amount men are brought up in conversation. I met someone once and one of her first questions to me and my peer was ‘So do any of you have boyfriends?’. Like what happened to hello my name is?? Personally I would love to know what your interests are instead of hearing how awful frat-boy-Connor is.

Young girls are sold this dream by all these beautiful Disney movies, that more often than not let us know that we'll only truly be complete once our Prince Charming shows up to save the day. So we endure the trials and tribulations of dating in our adulthood and after a couple of years, we all come to the begrudging realization that Disney lied and find that a Prince Charming is a little harder to come across.

Instead of stepping back and really understanding what we desire out of love and romantic connections, many just jump back in the dating pool, continuing to project their fairytale fantasy on the next candidate. Honestly, I blame Taylor Swift.

I’d love for as a collective, we as women need to realize how much power we carry. As long as we're free, we should spend our time: traveling, getting drinks with friends, painting, dancing, singing, flowing, glowing. We have such little time, please let a man be the last thing stressing you out.

Dress to Impress?

By: Sienna Lorient

Lately, I find myself being an outfit repeater — and not quite literally, but because I wear the same style damn near daily. But it’s not just me.

A rising “trend” I’m seeing in fashion is the “trying to look like I’m not trying too hard” look. We see it in the constant wear of oversized hoodies with shorts, or a simple sweatpant-and-tube-top combo. In this day and age, people are even wearing pajamas to job interviews…

Mind blown.

Women come to social media to express that they feel overdressed simply wearing casual tops with jeans and makeup, often being told, “They’d be too lazy for that,” after being given a compliment. And this I can relate to. Being told myself, “I don’t have time to do all of that,” when I’m simply wearing jeans and a fitted shirt. We’ve all heard, “Is this a good outfit, or is she just skinny?” And I have to attest that when the body looks tight, anything looks right.

Which makes me, and possibly others, want to cover ourselves up to avoid that attention. But why do that when the purpose of life is to express ourselves freely?

It’s made me wonder —

Is dressing like a bum the new fad?

We praise the baggy jeans and oversized T look, but side-eye the matching plaid set with the slicked-back bun and pointed-heel shoes. As a college student, I think both outfits are appropriate for class. There was a time when leaving your house dressed head to toe wasn’t even given a second thought. Wearing heels to the grocery store was normal. It wasn’t a statement or something to prove; it was simply expected. Men would always wear suits. Women wore their best pearls and skirts. But as the world started to modernize, clothing trends began to take over.

A fear of embarrassment has been unlocked due to the question, “Why are you so dressed up?” — making those who are dressed to impress (for themselves) feel like maybe they didn’t “read the room.” But this is because “standing out is more embarrassing than looking good is rewarding.”

Fashion is the most defining tool of self-expression and a tool for creativity and self-discovery. But how can we continue to embody that if we’re all dressed the same?

Milan Fashion Week just Wrapped!

By: Kaley Chambers

Milan fashion week has come and gone yet again, but the looks and trends they’ve set are here to stay. From Gucci’s party girls aesthetic to Roberto Cavalli's fierce designs, here’s our top five looks from one of fashions haute-est events!

1.) MOSCHINO FW 2026/2027

You can always count on this fashion house to bring the whimsy and fun into fashion! This stunning sheer gown is living proof With its neon flower embellishments.

2.) VIVETTA

While we’re on the topic of sheer dresses, this design by Vivetta is absolutely dreamy with its delicate plaid style embroidery and its beautiful light blue hue. I can definitely see this being worn on the red carpet during awards season!

3.) Roberto Cavalli

This dress is to.die.for!! I’ve been seeing a trend with mesh dresses in Milan but this design is absolutely top tier. Fausto Puglisi’s inspiration for the stress stemmed from wanting to take this fashion house back to black after so many years of animal prints in bright colors.

Honorable mention:

Olandria, who was a guest at the show, slayed! The bleached brows with blonde hair and dark dress/accessories is a LEWK.

4.) Blumarine

No one does sweet with a bit of edge like they do. As Vogue put it, David Komas collection is, “decadent Baroque palazzi gone to seed, masked adventurers prowling dim backstreets, and the inevitable gondola-side indiscretions”

5.) Gucci

Last but certainly not least is Gucci. The Internet had a lot to say about its designs, but I thought this collection was giving party girl, pulling-up-to-the-afters chic! The mini dresses, heavy black liner and the walk solidified the aesthetic/vision for me and I’m here for it!

This year heritage, subversion, modernity, comfort and elegance took the spotlight at fashion week and we can’t wait to see what next year brings. Until next time Milan…ciao!

Clean girl is cancelled, hungover thrift star is back!

By: Kaley Chambers

“She’s a rebel, she’s a rich girl. She can go out in the morning and come back the day after wearing the same outfit, with a Starbucks cup in her hand and a bracelet from the club the night before.” - Nicola Brognano

This collection from 7 for all mankind is Straight from the pages of a 2006 tabloid.

During NYFW, 7 for All Mankind killed the messy Indie Sleaze Vibe with their 2026 RTW collection and it’s actually so refreshing to see. They’re going back to Isabel Marant, YSL, Dsquared days mixed with  some delightful chaos. The messy faux fur, sheer black tights, heavy layered jewelry…is giving 2010s Tumblr! The platform heels plus statement necklaces are so quintessential 2010s, not to mention the huge bags too!! Honestly it's just nice to see something a bit darker, micro decadent, and less polished on the runway.

On a personal level, I love picturing the inside of the bags looking like my cool older cousin's in the late 2000s - tangled headphones, lighters with stickers, beat up drugstore makeup, body spray with no cap, pads and tampons, a book for class with lots of those thin plastic colorful sticky notes... Oh 2010s WE ARE SO BACK.

Is It Just Me, or Is Everyone Rebranding?

By Tsholo’felo S.

I swear everywhere I look; someone is rebranding. Maybe it’s not random.

When everything feels unstable — careers, timelines, the economy, even the state of the world — curating your identity starts to feel like the only thing you can control.

The aesthetic changes first. Then the captions. Then the energy shifts. But what happens when the results don’t?

Reinvention without tangible shift feels like running on a switched-off treadmill.

So, is rebranding something that happens because change is already here? Or is it something we do when we’re trying to call change in?

Maybe the new bio isn’t performance, it’s preparation. Maybe the wardrobe isn't a costume, it's a rehearsal.

None of us really know what’s coming next. And in a season of uncertainty, shaping your next chapter feels like something steady to hold onto.

Control feels good. But change — real, visible, undeniable change — is what sustains us.

Maybe rebranding isn’t about control at all.
Maybe it’s about readiness.
